Voytek gives apprentice Nicholas Hibbert his first winner

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Nicholas Hibbert, one of the newly minted apprentices just rode his first winner as a licenced jockey when he piloted the Richard Azan trained Voytek to victory in the 5 furlong round Royal Lancaster Trophy.

When the gates opened, jockey Dane Nelson pushed DenDen to the lead but they were quickly overtaken by Voytek who surged into a two to three length advantage.

In the straight, Voytek held the gallop well as he went away from rivals to win by five lengths.

DenDen held for second with Dracary’s third.

Voytek won in a respectable time of 1:00.4.
