In a display of endurance and determination, 10-year-old chestnut gelding Stanislaus continued to defy ‘Father Time’, securing his 17th career victory from 84 starts on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

This triumph not only showcased his longevity but also propelled his lifetime earnings to a staggering $8.88 million.

Competing in an Optional Claiming event, Stanislaus faced a field of three-year-olds and upward, including six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of three) and native-bred five-year-old maidens, over five furlongs straight.

Stanislaus, ridden by in-form jockey Shane Richardson and trained by Delroy Wisdom, seized the initiative from the starting gates opened and vied for the early lead with Noble Impulse (Oshane Nugent) and Will The Conquerer (Raddesh Roman).

As the field approached the dummy rails, Stanislaus found another gear, maintaining his gallop with ease, pulling away from the pack as he entered the final two furlongs on the main track. With a determined stride, Stanislaus dug deep, refusing to yield to his challengers.

In the end, Stanislaus held off a late surge from Will The Conquerer, crossing the wire by three-parts of a length in front. Party Princess (Roger Hewitt) came on for third place in a final time of 1:03.2.
