#US RACING: Two Jockeys Hopitalised After Spill At Parx

Two accidents at Parx on Wednesday resulted in two jockeys being hospitalized and two horses being euthanized.

The accidents occurred in two races, according to Paulick Report.

In the third race, a claiming race for fillies and mares, Sudoku Terry went down in the first turn and Alma Brilha fell over her, according to the report. The rest of the runners had to pull up to avoid the accident, and the race was declared a no-contest.

Jockeys Jorge Vargas and Francisco Martinez were hospitalized, according to the report. Both were conscious and moving on their own.

Sudoku Terri was euthanized, according to the report, and Alma Brilha returned to the barn.

Vargas's agent, Kevin Bubser, the jockey had pain in his knee and was awaiting results of an MRI on Thursday, according to the report. Bubser said he believed Martinez did not have serious injuries.

The second accident occurred in the seventh race, a claiming sprint. Ritaan fell after being squeezed between rivals and was euthanized because of her injuries, according to the report. Jockey Angel Castillo was up on his feet quickly, according to the report.
