Racing at Lone Star Park was abruptly suspended after the first race on Sunday due to "an overabundance of caution" related to coronavirus. No further details were immediately provided.
Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas had nine races carded for Sunday, including four stakes. However, the program was halted following a win by Right Lane Lukasz's in the opener, a US$15,000 claimer on the turf.
Lone Star Park kicked off its postponed meeting on May 22 and opened for spectators starting on June 7, Texas Champions Day. According to the Lone Star Park web site, guests older than two years old were required to wear face masks unless eating or drinking. Additionally, guests were required to have their temperatures checked upon entry and also take a questionnaire from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Spectators at Lone Star were limited to certain areas and attendance was limited to 50% of capacity. Lone Star Park is scheduled to host live racing through Aug. 22.
