KINGSTON, Jamaica – Running for the first occasion, Unruly Dude, a bay colt by Bern Identity out of Wonder Girl won impressively in a three-year-old maiden contest at 5 ½ furlongs.
Jockey Robert Halledeen sent the Dennis Pryce trained Unruly Dude to the lead from the get-go and never looked back at no stage in the contest. Unruly Dude was first chased by Manaco (Tevin Foster) and after by the 1-2 favourite Josh (Dick Cardenas) but all rivals folded in the wake of the newcomer.
Unruly Dude galloped strongly in the straight before being eased down by Halledeen in the last half furlong. Second went to Josh, with another newcomer Awesome Prince (Omar Walker) third.
This was the second win on the day for the combination of trainer Pryce and owner Busy Racing Stables. The winning time was 1:07.1
