KINGSTON, Jamaica - The second race on Saturday, September 21, 2024, is a three-year-old and up - non-winners of four races lifetime going seven and a half furlongs.
Five horses, all three-year-olds are entered to contest, with The Quick Galloper’s analysis presented below.
1 - FIRECRACKER is a bay filly (March 12) by Hedge Fund out of Lightning Lily, trained by Philip Feanny with Oneil Mullings riding. Moves up in class and also distance, as this is the first time Firecracker will be going longer than six and a half furlongs in her five-race career. On last (August 24), Firecracker fought hard, holding on to secure victory by a short head at 6 ½ furlongs. Another fair effort is anticipated from Firecracker but not a winning one.
2 - SHE’S A GODGIFT is a bay filly (USA March 7) by Wildcat Red out of Ghostly Direction, trained by Leroy Tomlinson with Shane Richardson in the saddle. Note that She’s A Godgift races with the tongue tie off. Began her career by winning her first two races. Since then, She’s A Godgift on May 5 finished a close second (May 5) behind Chocomo, then after a long break returned on August 31, delivering a poor run, finishing sixth all of 13 lengths adrift of winner Riches To Rags. She’s A Godgift in her four starts to date has not gone longer than 5 ½ furlongs, which makes winning this one difficult.
3 - UNBELIEVABLE FORCE is a dark bay filly (USA April 19) by McCracken out of Debit or Credit, trained by Philip Feanny with Raddesh Roman aboard. Made it two wins from two starts just seven days ago. Another entrant who has not raced longer than 5 ½ furlongs. Unbelievable Force will no doubt lead the field and has to be caught.
4 - O SO SMART is a chestnut filly (May 24) by Soul Warrior out Patchwork, trained by Steven Todd with Paul Francis holding the reins. Cannot manage these at this time.
5 - GOODBY FIREFLY is a bay colt (USA March 30) by Mucho Macho Man out of Shanghai Lady, trained by Spencer Chung with Reyan Lewis listed as the designated jockey. Did not deliver as expected on debut (June 29) down the five straight. Returned on August 6 over seven furlongs to annihilate rivals by 11 ¼ lengths while clocking 1:28.0. Goodby Firefly is the only horse of the five entered with only one victory.
CONCLUSION - This race is going to be decided by one of the three foreigners entered, She’s A Godgift, Unbelievable Force, or Goodby Firefly. Unbelievable Force will be the leader, and will be well-rated by jockey Raddesh Roman. Goodby Firefly will follow along with She’s A Godgift. In the straight, it is going a fight between these three with The Quick Galloper giving the edge to Unbelievable Force.
