KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second of 11 races today at Caymanas Park was seen a sprint contest over five furlongs round for four-year-olds and upwards non-winner of four involving Trevor Choice and the unbeaten Truly Amazing.
That was not to be as Trevor’s Choice with Shane Ellis in the saddle demolished rivals by a screaming five lengths.
With both Trevor’s Choice (3-5) and Truly Amazing selling odds-on in the betting, it was the former from the number one draw that shot to the front when the gates opened and there was no looking back. My Switcharoo (Dane Dawkins – 8-1) tried her best to follow with Truly Amazing (Aaron Chatrie – 4-5) running in third.
Ellis was easy on Trevor’s Choice when they entered the straight and with a quick change of hold to the left hand which immediately saw Trevor’s Choice pulling away to win.
Truly Amazing ran on to get second in front of My Switcharoo. This was the first time that Truly Amazing was racing over the round course
The time recorded by Trevor’s Choice was a fast 58.2 seconds. The splits were blistering at 22.3 x 45.2.
With this win Trevor’s Choice will next race at the Overnight Allowance level.
