APPEAL – TRAINER PHILIP FEANNY vs. STEWARDS’ DECISION
On Thursday 7th April, 2022, the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal submitted by Trainer Philip Feanny against the Stewards’ decision which was handed down on Monday 25th October, 2021 to disqualify his horse BABYLIKE from the 2nd race. Horse No. 5 BABYLIKE who was second passed the post was disqualified and placed seventh for intimidation and interference caused to horse No. 2 RUPUNZEL and horse No. 1 AWESOME RICH leaving the 700-metre point of the race.
After carefully reviewing the film of the race and submissions made by
Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Vincent Henry, Owner of BABYLIKE, and the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Operations Steward, the Commission ruled that the decision of the Stewards be overturned. Therefore, the placings of the race were reverted to the original finish and is as follows: -

2nd BABYLIKE
3rd PELICULA
4th POWER
5th RUPUNZEL
6th MAGGIE’S BOY
7th AWESOME RICH

Difficult for the punter who bought the exacta and or quinella that day to accept tho those stewards should be fined for incompetence because if you look at the replay it's obvious the jockey and horse did not do anything to merit a disqualification
No, they are there to do a job, sometimes they are going to make errors. That is why like in the justice system there is recourse for appeal. When you buy a bet that is one of the conditions of purchase.
If a jockey causes a horse to cross another ones path from the start to the finish then fine disqualify the horse but at no point during that race peanny horse did so and ur telling me Abt error no wonder it will never be better error us when you add 2 plus 2 and say 5 the punters plus the breeders are the two most important set of people and there is no one to defend them
