KINGSTON, Jamaica - Trainer Junior Small saddled his first winner this season when his charge Queen Zan made all the running to win a native-bred five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) and imported five-year-old and upwards (maidens) coming down the five straight chute.

Ridden by Roger Hewitt, Queen Zan broke well at the start and held the lead ahead of Sensational Storm (Aaron Chatrie), Nuttin But Trouble (Trevor Simpson), and Tiger Bella (Samantha Fletcher).

As the runners sorted themselves out, Queen Zan was in complete command of the race approaching the final two furlongs (400 m), holding a healthy lead over her rivals. Queen Zan, a five-year-old chestnut mare, galloped through the finish line to win by 5 1/2 lengths.

Sensational Storm finished second, and Tiger Bella finished third, as the final time for the race was recorded at 1:01.3.
