KINGSTON, Jamaica - When Sheer De Jour crossed the winning post first on Saturday, February 15, 2025, it was a welcome relief for trainer Al Brown.
Not only was this Brown's first success of 2025, but it also marked his first victory since September 29, 2024, when his horse Don Pablo, ridden by Victor Sanchez, managed to secure the win.
“Yes, it has been a long wait since my last trip to the winners’ enclosure. It has not been for a lack of work at the stables, but several factors have combined to delay a win.
“I am grateful that success has now come my way in the form of Sheer De Jour, who won convincingly with Tajay Suckoo in the saddle. Hopefully, now that Sheer De Jour has delivered, the barn will pick up,” Brown said.
Sheer De Jour was racing for the 12th time, while it marked Brown’s eighth start of the season.
