KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Trophy event for three-year-olds and upwards at the Open Allowance/Graded Stakes level takes centre stage on the 10-race programme tomorrow, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Caymanas Park.
Despite attracting a field of only six runners, a highly competitive offering is in the making going 6 furlongs (1,200m).
Each runner is listed in draw order and analysed below.
-
DUKE: (6 gr h by Casual Trick – Lady MacBeth) – Consistent runner who won the Supreme Ventures Limited 21st Anniversary Trophy over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) 21 days ago on June 22. Duke should welcome this half-furlong (100m) extension and although picking up 11 lb is in such good nick that he can stay off what is expected to be a torrid pace, and then strike in the final furlong.
-
LURE OF LUCY (USA): (4 b f by Uncle Lino – Ring of Faith) – Won impressively at the Overnight Allowance in a time of 1:12.2 over 6 furlongs, the same distance as today’s encounter. Lure of Lucy, who is still on the improving side, is as fit as hands can make her, but she will need time to get accustomed to this new grouping.
-
JORDON REIGN’S (USA): 4 b g by Mosler – Dearie be Good) – Defeated Lure of Lucy on last when racing over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) coming off a break. Jordon Reign’s although racing in this grade for the first time seems to be cut from special cloth and with only 109 lb in his back, he will be difficult to beat.
-
EAGLE ONE (USA): (5 b g by Astrology – Frisky Cheerleader) – Has no form to recommend.
-
KING ARTHUR: (5 b g by Natural Selection – Geisha Gift) – A winner three starts back when travelling over today’s distance. King Arthur appears to have found his rhythm and with the trip the same, he could be in the running for top honours.
-
GO DEH GIRL (USA): (4 dkb f by Justin Phillip – Pontificating) – Finished a close fourth in the recent Supreme Ventures Limited 21st Anniversary Trophy behind Duke. With Duke present here, that doesn’t say much about the chances of Go Deh Girl plus the additional ground will not be to her liking.
