We have to train her lightly – trainer Richard Azan

Thirtyonekisses, bred by Savoy Stomp out of the Law of the Sea mare Shahar, added her name to the pool of three-year-olds to win a race after a fighting victory in a maiden condition call over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m) on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Caymanas Park.
After nine career starts and wearing the figure-8 for the first time, Thirtyonekisses defeated El Cid (Shane Ellis) by a head in a time of 1:37.0.
From a level break, Thirtyonekisses settled into fourth place leaving the 7-furlong marker behind Devonte’ (Robert Halledeen), Secret Emperor (Linton Steadman), and Potential (Dane Dawkins).
Thirtyonekisses made her run at the half-mile when slipping down into second place behind Devonte’, who then began to fade approaching the distance. With a couple of cracks of the whip by jockey Youville Pinnock, Thirtyonekisses responded well to hold off El Cid. Get a Pepsi (Hakeem Pottinger) was third.
“Well, she is a small filly but she is coming on. She is at a stage of improvement now and she ran very well today. I am happy she has won. I was a little bit worried because it was a very competitive field but now that she has won, let’s see what happens.
“She is a light-framed filly and so we have to train her lightly and that makes it a little more difficult to prepare but as we go on, she will mature more and put on more muscle,” Azan said.
