KINGSTON, Jamaica – The combination of jockey Anthony Thomas and trained Jason DaCosta earned their second winner on the day after It’s A Boy success in the Caymanas Saturday ninth at odds of 8-5. The event was for three-year-olds (non-winners of two) going 7 ½ furlongs.
It was It’s A Boy’s stablemate Heart of the Sea (Jerome Innis), who carried the pack at a merry clip followed by Nuttin But Trouble (Ruja Lahoe). At this stage It’s A Boy was in mid-pack about 10 lengths or more behind the leader.
Heart of the Sea increased her lead on the front end as Nuttin But Trouble faded out with Heavenly Glitter (Paul Francis) starting to get closer, while It’s A Boy and Thomas began to make their move as well.
In the straight, Heart of the Sea was still galloping strong but was challenged and overtaken by Heavenly Glitter, but as soon as this happened, Thomas pounced on It’s A Boy to win comfortably by 1 ¼ lengths. Heavenly Glitter was second and Positive ID (Oneil Mullings) third.
