KINGSTON, Jamaica - The third race on Saturday, November 23, 2024, is two-year-old maiden special weight in which six juveniles, all fillies, will face the starter including one first-timer.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the six starters travelling 5 ½ furlongs is given below for the perusal of readers.
1 - KIMUCHI is a bay filly (February 7) by Conquest Cherimash out of Hurricane Michelle, trained by Ryan Darby with Paul Francis in the saddle. She comes to the races for the second occasion, with a fourth-place finish to her credit. That two-race experience is sufficient against these rivals for Kimuchi to be in the thick of things at the finish.
2 - CASUALLYYOURS is a bay filly (February 26) by Casual Trick out of Unpredictable, trained by Michael Marlowe with Tevin Foster riding. This filly is making her debut. Reports from morning onlookers suggest that Casuallyyours is of some worth; yet, she is not ready for a winning effort as yet. Will learn.
3 - MINEOLA is a bay filly (March 5) by Casual Trick out of Sweet Trail, trained by Jason DaCosta with Victor Sanchez holding the reins. She entered the racing fray on November 9 with much expected. It was an underwhelming eighth-place finish, way behind the winner, Hazelnut. Trainer DaCosta has rung the changes by putting on the blinkers and the figure eight. A better effort is now expected.
4 - SUCCESSFUL GIRL is a bay filly (March 8) by Successful Native out of Rudy Girl, trained by Stedman Curtis with Dane Dawkins aboard. She started her racing career on October 26 with a disappointing eighth-place finish, 21 lengths behind the winner, Mighty Gully. It is a waiting game with Successful Girl, who races with the tongue tie on; the change of jockeys from Jemar Jackson to Dane Dawkins is of significance.
5 - PLATINUM PRINCESS is a bay filly (January 17) by Bern Identity out of Native Gold, trained by Anthony Nunes with Dick Cardenas as the nominated rider. She is the most experienced of this lot with three starts to her credit. Apart from a bad run second time out, Platinum Princess has finished second and then third. She comes from a barn in top form at the moment, so it’s all systems go for this filly.
6 - BADGAL CHELSEA is a bay filly by Midnight Hawk out of Karlie, trained by Howard Bailey with Larris Allen aboard. She finished third on making her debut and is therefore entitled to have a stake to finish in the top three. Note that Badgal Chelsea races with first-time Lasix.
