KINGSTON, Jamaica – THE QUICK GALLOPER continues to follow the progress of the three-year-olds with attention on the Saturday card centred on both divisions of a maiden condition event at 5 ½ furlongs.
Division One is the seventh race carrying 11 starters with six first-time runners. The assessment of the 11 by THE QUICK GALLOPER is published below in draw order.
– NORTHERN LADY is a bay filly (April 12) by Northern Giant out Liquid Lady trained by Patrick Lynch with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Nothing spectacular about this filly at exercise yet. Note, Northern Lady races with first-time Lasix
– GRACEFULLY MADE is a bay filly (April 19) by Blue Pepsi Lodge out of Peace By Peace trained by Alford Brown with Dick Cardenas in the saddle. Gracefully Made has been on the track in the mornings for a while and is well advanced in her preparations. Seems to be a filly of some worth and is expected to play a prominent part in the outcome.
– SIR TAJAY is a bay colt (April 15) by Traditional out of Lastochka trained by Steven Todd with Romario Spencer in the saddle. By far the most raced in this contest with 12 starts to his credit. Yet, the best Sir Tajay can hope for is a place on the board.
– THE EXODUS is a dark bay filly (May 26) by Fearless Vision out of Special Report trained by Steven Todd with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Finished a promising third in his first of three starts, but since then has not shown any progression. Will have to wait.
– SARGE IN CHARGE is a bay gelding (March 12) by Nasheet out of Aunt Hilda trained by Phillip Lee with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Has done nothing of significance in his seven starts thus far. That trend will continue. Note, Sarge In Charge races with the figure 8 on.
– FLIGHT TIME is a three-year-old bay colt (May 14) by Bern Identity – Blast Off trained by Wilfred Chin with Andre Martin in the saddle. Was nominated to race on May 14 and was declared a late non-starter. Flight Time since then has been stepping up his work at exercise but is not ready to take on this company.
– D HEAD CORNERSTONE is a bay colt (March 23) by Bern Identity out of Soul of the Heart trained by Gary Subratie with Andre Powell in the saddle. Has been on the track for a while now, with morning railbirds forming the opinion that D Head Cornerstone is of some ability and has a good chance of getting off the mark right away.
- SALUD is a bay filly (April 11) by Bridled Quest out of Lunar Explosion trained by Ryan Darby with Paul Francis in the saddle. Salud is said to be coming along well at exercise, and based on that evidence is expected to run well without winning.
– DON VINCENZIO is a bay colt (May 27) by Savoy Stomp out of Exotic Selection trained by Spencer Chung with Omar Walker in the saddle. This colt is from good stock and has been showing more than average ability in the mornings. Don Vincenzio is said to be coming along nicely and in this wide-open event can play a role in the finish.
– JJ KING is a chestnut colt (March 26) by Urban King out of She Knowns best trained by Renex Burrell with Oshane Nugent in the saddle. Still learning his trade at exercise.
– SIR RAGBAR BAPI is a bay gelding (March 30) by Storm Craft out of Lady Najariya trained by Rowan Mathie with Oneil Scott in the saddle. Has raced twice and has nothing to show for his efforts. Note, Sir Ragbar Bapi races with the blinkers on.
