KINGSTON, Jamaica – THE QUICK GALLOPER continues to follow the progress of the three-year-olds with attention on the Saturday card (May 14) centred on both divisions of a maiden condition event at 5 ½ furlongs.
Division Two is the ninth race carrying 11 starters with six first-time runners. The assessment of the 11 by THE QUICK GALLOPER is published below in draw order.
– JUST MOVE IT is a bay filly (March 15) by Liquidity out of The Girl Next Door trained by Ray Phillips with Matthew Bennett in the saddle. Has been making steady progress in the mornings and her time will come but not in this one. Newcomer.
– UNRULY DUDE is a bay colt (April 1) by Bern Identity out of Wonder Girl trained by Dennis Pryce with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Has been catching the eye at exercise and is advanced in preparation for his debut. Many morning pundits expect Unruly Dude to be in the reckoning when this race is being decided, plus the combination of Pryce and owner Busy Racing Stable has been bringing home the winners of late. Newcomer.
– MANACO is a chestnut colt (April 9) by Lion Tamer out of The Golden One trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. This half-brother to the gifted top-class campaigner Oneofakind is coming along well at exercise and will be thereabout at the finish. Newcomer.
– KETURAH is a bay filly ((April 14) by Legal Process out of Kalamata trained by Patrick Lynch with Shavon Townsend in the saddle. This is a learning experience for Keturah. Newcomer.
– THE PULSE is a bay filly (January 29) by Casual Trick out of Heart Beat trained by Kibbeisha Little with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. This filly is slowly coming along after four starts and the presence of leading rider Dane Dawkins is an indication of stable confidence. Watch The Pulse.
– ALEXA’S SECRET is a chestnut filly (February 26) by Sensational Slam out of Alexa’s Song trained by Robert Pearson with Romario Spencer in the saddle. This filly has been working in the mornings for a while now and is progressively honing her skills. Many believe that Alexa’s Secret is a live candidate tomorrow. Newcomer.
– AWESOME PRINCE is a bay colt (May 8) by Vancouver out of Awesome Lucy trained by Steven Todd with Omar Walker in the saddle. Making his way and will be the better from this experience. Newcomer.
– FRIENDOFTHEFAMILY is a grey gelding (April 27) by Here Comes Ben out of Win Bracelet trained by Junior Small with Oneil Mullings in the saddle. Friendofthefamily has the benefit of two runs in his hoofs and has been making steady progress at exercise. The expectation is for a capital effort.
– KING AIR is a chestnut colt (March 14) by Midnight Hawk out of Mameta trained by Edward Stanberry with Kiaman McGregor in the saddle. Needs more time and will learn from this experience. Note, King Air races with first-time Lasix.
– MISS CALEESI is a grey filly (April 14) by Midnight Hawk out of Auntie Rhoda trained by Delroy Wisdom with Natalie Burger in the saddle. This filly has raced nine times and has not produced anything of worth. Note, Miss Caleesi races with the blinkers on.
– JOSH is a bay colt (April 12) by Casual Trick out of Jazzy Jet trained by Richard Azan with Dick Cardenas in the saddle. Got by the winning post in front on his second outing but was subsequently disqualified. Josh is of some merit and with this field filled with first-timers, he will use his class and experience to get off the mark, plus the change of riders will help.
