KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Fitzgerald Richards achieved his best ever result in a single race when his horses Sacrifice, Boss Izzy and Herecomestheboss finished first, second and third respectively in the Caymanas Monday first.

Sacrifice (Shavon Townsend) won at searing odds of 67-1 in a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($250,000 - $200,000) covering a  distance of six furlongs (1,200) metres.

Townsend kept Sacrifice off the pace set by stablemate Herecomestheboss with Smarty Tradition (Matthew Bennett) and Boss Izzy (Nicholas Hibbert) tracking closely.

Smarty Tradition threatened to disrupt the Richards’ trifecta by taking over as the horses were about to enter the stretch drive for the final two furlongs.

Townsend, getting a clear un on the inside rails, got Sacrifice to increase his tempo and the bay gelding responded by pulling away to win by 2 1/2 lengths.

The exacta with Sacrifice at 67-1 and Boss Izzy at 10-1 paid $18,248.
