Iamacitizen has as much chance as her seven rivals. This foreigner has not shown any form in recent times but her last run when finishing sixth in the class above gave a glimpse of Iamacitizen’s finding herself. Ajita tried claiming on last after failing to deal with non-winners of four. On Saturday (January 8, 2022), Ajita is placed again in claiming ($750,000) going seven furlongs. Ajita has already won going nine furlongs and 25 yards, making seven furlongs right up her street. She is not expected to win but has a good chance of placing and with possible starting odds of 15-1, Ajita is best for a place bet or in the trifecta or superfecta wagers.
Pure Heart is included in a large field of 14 participating in an Optional Claimer at six furlongs. The connections of Pure Heart have opted for a claiming price of $250,000. This veteran of the track is now seven years old and has 54 starts under his belt winning four times. Returned to the track after a long break in early December when he finished seventh in what
must have been a pipe opener for a better effort, and THE QUICK WHISPERER expects that improved run to materialise on Saturday. Pure Heart can be placed in any of the bets on offer. Expected starting odds of 6-1.
City Counsel takes a drop, albeit a slight one, racing for $400,000 going 6 ½ furlongs. City Counsel returned to competitive racing on December 19 after a break of over three months to finish third behind Sudden Flight and Lala Diva down the five-straight course. City Counsel should have stripped fitter from that effort and has every chance of winning. Place City Counsel in all bets. Should start at odds of about 4-1.
