Ten races with 92 horses nominated
THE HORSES
Four horses will make their debut on the 10-race programme. These horses are The Pulse, Select Me, She’s Fantastic, all racing in the fourth event, and Soul Amia in the eighth.
The Pulse is a three-year-old filly by Casual Trick out of Heart Beat trained by Kibbeisha Little.
Select Me is a dark bay filly by Natural Selection out of Excellence trained by Patrick Lynch. Of note is that Select Me was nominated to run on December 11, 2021, but was declared a late non-starter because of an injury. Excellence has produced Uncle Wal.
She’s Fantastic is a bay filly by Bern Identity out of Fantabulous trained by Victor Williams. Fantabulous has produced Fabulosity.
Soul Amia is a four-year-old bay filly by Soul Warrior – Miss Jay trained by Anthony Nunes.
As the QUICK GALLOPER continues to follow the three-year-olds, the second race, which is a three-year-old non-winners of two event for local horses and a maiden event for the importees, has attracted eight starters: Lion of Ekati (USA); Valhalla; Talona (USA); Fly Messenger Fly; Luksol (USA); Awesome Rich; Babylike, and Wowza (USA).
Valhalla is a three-year-old chestnut filly by Blue Pepsi Lodge out of Jah Karma. Jah Karma has produced Reasons, Jammin, and Fighting Valbee
Fly Messenger Fly is a chestnut filly by Northern Giant out of Preach Preacher. Preach Preacher has produced Trial Lawyer, She Can Preach, Royal Line, Titan, Silver Cloud, Drummer Boy, Devine Lexie, and Tomohawk.
Awesome Rich is a three-year-old bay colt by Northern Giant out of Awesome Camille. Awesome Camille has produced Mamacita, Danny Spud, and Gentle Giant.
BabyLike is a three-year-old dark bay filly by Savoy Stomp – Ladylike. Ladylike has produced Action Ann.
The oldest horse racing on the Saturday card is Stormonthesea in the first race. Stormonthesea is now 11-years-old.
Stormonthesea is closely followed by Abogado (first race); Princess Statistic (first race), and former St Leger winner Superluminal (seventh race), all ten-year-olds.
THE JOCKEYS
One of the hot jockeys at the moment Tevin Foster has secured eight rides on the day. Foster is followed by current leader Dane Dawkins, champion Anthony Thomas, and apprentice Roger Hewitt. The latter three procuring seven mounts each.
The ever-present Robert Halledeen is mounting up in five races, while it is of interest that past champions Dane Nelson has four rides, and Omar Walker, two.
