KINGSTON, Jamaica – The raceday of Saturday, May 15, 2021 was dominated by the sole winner of the Reggae-6, the return to supreme form of Horse of the Year, Nipster plus there was Secret Identity displaying her credentials for the upcoming Classic 1000 Guineas.
THE REGGAE SIX
With one race to go in the Reggae-6, there were over one hundred tickets with winning chances.
Then came the sixth race on the day which was the grand finale of the Reggae-6. The amount wagered on the Reggae-6 today was over $6 million.
After the sixth which saw Pharoah It Is ridden by Chris Mamdeen for trainer Gary Subratie winning at searing odds of 31-1, there was only one ticket standing in the Reggae-6.
The holder of that ticket got a payout of $6.9 million.

THE HORSES
Nipster resurfaced and was back to his expected premium self. The Horse of the Year rose above all while giving away weight to all his rivals to win in scorching style this year’s rendition of the Open Allowance Saint Cecelia Cup.
That Nipster won the Saint Cecelia was expected but two things came to the fore about this win today.
The first is that Nipster without any doubt does his best running when racing on the inside rails. And two, this was Nipster’s third run trained by champion Anthony Nunes and it was his first win under the guidance of the champion.
Good to see Nipster back at full throttle.
The victory by the Tensang Chung trained Secret Identity gave an indication of what she is made of and the talent she possesses especially with the fillies only 1000 Guineas only three weeks away.
Secret Identity an offspring of Bern Identity gave a superb display when winning a three-year-old non winners of two contest at six furlongs. The manner of victory by Secret Identity oozed class and indicated that she is truly in fine fettle before the 1000 Guineas.
Another Bern Identity offspring She’s My Destiny making her debut did so showing a lot of speed in a three-year-old maiden offering. She’s My Destiny was making a belated debut and based on her effort today should go through her three-year-old races quite easily.
Give a shout-out also to Chrisanli who registered his fourth victory from his last five starts including three wins in succession.
THE JOCKEYS
Not much to report here apart from another double for co-champion Anthony Thomas.
Thomas’ main rival and fellow co-champion Dane Nelson rode one winner.
