Sistren Treasure - Dane Dawkins
RACE ONE – After a long drought period the winners are emerging for trainer Keffin Murray. Murray was successful with KP Choice just seven days prior and scored on the day with Run Jaya Run with Devon A Thomas in the saddle. It was win number three for Murray this season and number two for the journeyman rider.
RACE TWO – It was a bitter-sweet two-year-old contest. Newcomer and foreigner Sistren Treasure trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins aboard was slowly out, yet was able to gather momentum in the straight for a decisive first win. That was the sweet, the bitter was the fate of another foreign entrant Mr DJ. This gelding raced prominently throughout and when brought to challenge the leader popped his right fore and was subsequently put away. Win number one for Dawkins and Subratie on the day.
RACE THREE – It has been a long and rocky road for the connections of five-year-old horse Awesome Boy, who still had the status of a maiden after 15 starts. Awesome Boy relieved himself of that tag. The jockey was Jawani Forbes, who has had his skirmishes with the authorities but is slowly finding the correct patch. He achieved his second win of the year.
RACE FOUR – The unstoppable pair of trainer Gary Subratie and jockey Dane Dawkins made it two on the day with Atlantic Blue winning easily.
RACE FIVE – Nala’s Bushman, a consistent member of the claiming club, earned his sixth win from 67 starts, under the guidance of the little-used Jemar Jackson. For the rider, it was win number 4 in 2022.
RACE SIX -Win number three for both trainer Gary Subratie and jockey Dane Dawkins was achieved with the minimum of fuss by Alexa’s Dream. Note, that Alexa’s Dream won with the blinkers off. Win number three for Subratie and Dawkins.
RACE SEVEN – A noticeable victory in a three-year-old (non-winners of two) contest by A Gift From Ben for trainer Rowan Mathie and jockey Dick Cardenas. Cardenas, since his return from injury, has been finding his way with winners every now and then. Cardenas is riding in a freelancer’s role, not attached to any one yard, as he was in the past with Anthony Nunes and Wayne DaCosta.
RACE EIGHT – Finally, it is mission accomplished for Funometer, having faced the starter 12 times. It was another victory for the rising combination of champion trainer Anthony Nunes and champion jockey Anthony Thomas.
RACE NINE – The sizzling performance of Atomica will be the subject of a separate article. Sorry, separate articles.
RACE TEN – Nakamura took a while to win his second race to boost the stocks of trainer Lawrence and jockey Reyan Lewis.
