Jockeys, trainers, and first-time starters
There is one first-time starter on the 10-race card. The first-timer is a foreigner Talona, who is a bay filly by Bayern out of To My Delight. Talona is trained by 14-time champion Philip Feanny.
JOCKEYS
Champion jockey Anthony Thomas makes his seasonal debut, after an injury, which forced him to rest for three race days. Thomas has five rides in races number 1, 3, 7, 9, and 10.
While Thomas makes his return, the popular Dane Nelson, who was in the saddle last week for the first time in four months takes a break but is listed to ride on the Sunday card of January 16, 2022.
Jockey Dane Dawkins, who is currently on a purple patch, leads the way with the number of rides on the day. Dawkins is going to have a rather hectic six hours as he is down to ride in eight races.
Surprisingly, jockey Robert Halledeen, who is currently as hot as can be, has only four rides.
Jockey Phillip Parchment continues his resurgence with five mounts on the programme.
TRAINERS
Among the conditioners, the current leader in the championship Gary Subratie, who had three winners to reach the magical number of 700 all-time winners last Saturday has horses in five races; races number 1, 3, 4, 7, and 9.
Champion Anthony Nunes has horses in four races (3, 7, 9, and 10). Trainer Jason DaCosta will have starters in four races (3, 7, 9, and 10).
