KINGSTON, Jamaica – To say that apprentice Christopher Mamdeen is currently well blessed would be the understatement of the year.
The young man just rode his second winner on the day in the day’s third race as the 10-race Saturday (April 20) card continued at Caymanas Park.
This time the irrepressible Mamdeen got the job done on 2-5 odds favourite Chief of State for trainer Spencer Chung in a Maiden Special Weight (four-year-olds and up) run over 5 ½ furlongs.
Mamdeen rode a tactically superb race as after going in front after the start, he backed off the lead allowing Alexa’s Star to take over and then in the straight he went down on the inside rails before pulling away for and easy 6 ¾ lengths victory.
Second went to Secret Law with third the position of Alexa’s Star.
The winning time was 1:09.1.
