KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was a case of two grey horses Doctor Grey and Velvet Moon fighting out the finish of the first race on today’s (August 10) race card at Caymanas Park.
The event was a maiden condition for three-year-olds run over 10 furlongs in which Devine Lexie led for a long way but had wobbly legs in the straight leaving the door open for the battle of the greys in which Doctor Grey came out on top in the end.
Doctor Grey was ridden by apprentice Roger Hewitt and is trained by Donovan Russell. Second went to Velvet Moon (Shane Richardson) and third Chief Diplomat (Christopher Mamdeen). Chief Diplomat was the overwhelming 1-9 on favourite.
The winning time was 2:14.4.
