KINGSTON, Jamaica – Storm Princess racing at 1-5 odds on had to fight hard to win the Caymanas Monday second.

With Anthony Thomas in the saddle for trainer Gregory Forsyth, Storm Princess dug deep when the starter let the six runners go in a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($350,000 - $300,000) at four furlongs.

Storm Princess’ stable companion Markofaprince set of in front at a merry clip and held a lead of over two lengths coming on to the main part of the race track.

Thomas got Storm Princess going in the final furlong but just as the seven-year-old roan mare was able to go by Markofsprince, another grey Boss Izzy appeared on the outside with Nicholas Hibbert in the saddle.

In the end, it was Storm Princess by a short-head over Boss Izzy with Markofaprince third.
