KINGSTON, Jamaica – The following is THE QUICK GALLOPER’S assessment of the 5 ½ furlong – Supreme Ventures Limited 21st Anniversary Trophy, a three-year-old and upwards Open Allowance | Graded Stakes call run on Saturday, June 25, 2022. The assessment is done in the finishing order of the seven competing horses.
FIRST: Duke – Benefitted from a substantial pull in the weights plus this six-year-old was racing at a distance much to his liking. Jockey Dane must be credited for his performance in the saddle, staying off the front runners, and then striking at the right time. It was a peach of a ride by the now leading rider. For Duke, it was his 12th career victory from 54 starts, with his total earnings rising to over $11 million.
SECOND: Double Diva – This US-bred filly did extremely well in her first Open Allowance run. Double Diva was slowly out of her starting stall, rallied in mid-race, entering the straight behind the leading pack. Her turn of foot in the stretch drive was admirable, yet not enough to thwart the winner. Double Diva will win many races in this grade.
THIRD: God of Love -  Disputed the lead for a long while, faltering in the final furlong.
FOURTH: Go Deh Girl – Made use of the one draw by going to the lead. Ran gamely throughout without troubling the top two.
FIFTH: King Arthur – Never a winning factor.
SIXTH: Eagle One – Never a winning factor.
SEVENTH: Hover Craft – Was a filler.
