KINGSTON, Jamaica – Thalos, a chestnut gelding by Lion Tamer out of Hija De Reina notched his second victory from three starts in commanding fashion to close the nine-race card at Caymanas Park on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
Thalos' second victory was achieved in a three-year-old (non-winners of two) event at six furlongs with Robert Halledeen in the saddle for owner | trainer Anthony Nunes.
From the get-go, Halledeen pushed Thalos to the front end, where they were challenged by Awesome Rich (Anthony Thomas) with Mila’s All That (Dane Dawkins), 4-5 favourite Gilbert (Shane Richardson) and A Gift From Ben (Youville Pinnock) following behind.
Then entering the turn, Thalos topped off his winning effort after a break of 69 days by further accelerating, winning by 8 ½ lengths in reasonable time of 1:13.0.
