KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing over three furlongs, the US bred Supreme Authority took the sixth race on the mid-week programme at Caymanas Park at crushing odds of 19-1.
The event was an Optional Claiming contest for horses in the $180,000 - $150,000 bracket.
In this short sprint, Supreme Authority ridden by apprentice Romario Spencer, sped from the number seven draw in a field of 13 runners straight to the outside rails and under strong hand riding was able to get home by 1 ¼ lengths.
The two fancied runners in the contest Parajet (Oshane Nugent 3/2) and Sure Step (Oshadane Robinson – 2/1) finished second and third respectively.
Supreme Authority provided his trainer Nicholas Smith with his first winner in 2020.
The Sunrise -6 had six winners with each receiving $608.090.
