KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a dramatic burst of speed over the last half a furlong, Sunshine Cat came from dead last to upset rivals in the second Boxing Day event which was a six-furlong contest for horses in the $650,000 - $600,000 claiming bracket.

Sunshine Cat with apprentice Anthony Allen in the saddle was the last to leave the gates as the speedster Talented Tony K (Dane Nelson – 9-5) shot to the lead with Pakman (Reyan Lewis – 6-5) and Mr Pantheon (Raddesh Roman – 35-1) tracking.

In the straight, Sunshine Cat was still at the back of the field as Talented Tony K started to fold. With just half a furlong left in the race it was a clear fight between Uncle Freddie (Anthony Thomas – 6-5) with Mr Pantheon gathering ground on the outside.

Then literally dropping from the sky, Allen produced Sunshine Cat who swooped over all and sundry to win by a neck.

The manner in which Sunshine Cat won brought the house down at Caymanas Park.

Second was Mr Pantheon with Uncle Freddie third.
