KINGSTON, Jamaica - The third race on Sunday, October 29, 2023, features a three-year-old maiden call specifically for horses that have not finished second or third in prior races.

The event has attracted nine entries, competing over five furlongs straight. Below is The Quick Galloper's assessment in post-position order:

- XYLOPHONIC STEEL, a bay filly (March 24) by Bern Identity out of Kiri, is trained by Khary Tucker with Shavon Townsend aboard. Despite previous support, she has yet to show consistently solid form. With blinkers off and the visor on along with the figure 8, a place on the board is possible.

- UNCLE SYL, a bay colt (March 13) by Resurgence out of Mama C, is trained by Carlton Cunningham with Richard Henry riding. He has not shown significant progress in his five starts to date. Even with blinkers on and figure eight off, the pattern is likely to continue.

- CASUAL TREASURE, a bay filly (April 10) by Casual Trick out of Peace By Peace, is trained by Renex Burrell with Oshane Nugent aboard. She has not finished higher than seventh in any of her nine starts so far and will likely maintain that trend on Sunday.

- SHE'S ALONE, a chestnut filly (June 8) by Soul Warrior out of Go Flint Go, is trained by Michael Cain with Shamaree Muir holding the reins. She has not shown much promise in her four starts. However, She’s Alone has no strong rivals and her best chance to win for the first time. Note: She races with blinkers off and figure eight on.

- ATOMIC ENERGY, a chestnut filly (February 5) by Patton Proud out of Nuclear Girl, is trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins riding. She has finished fourth in four of her last ten starts, showing promise among these competitors. The champion jockey's change is significant, giving Atomic Energy her best opportunity to leave the maiden bracket.

- JUBBIE WAP WAP, a grey filly (April 19) by Spieth out of Wap, is trained by Michael Thomas with Tanoy Henry aboard. She has no realistic chance of winning. Jubbie Wap Wap races with tongue tie and cheek pieces on.

- LITTLE MISS NISHA, a chestnut filly (April 19) by Traditional out of Simply Classic, is trained by Colin Ferguson with Raddesh Roman holding the reins. Winning would require a monumental effort. Note: Little Miss Nisha races with tongue tie and cheek pieces on and first-time Lasix.

- TEQUILA FLIGHT, a grey filly (April 3) by Spieth out of Alice and Trixie, is trained by Steven Todd with Devon A Thomas riding. She can be safely ruled out as a winning contender.

- CHARMING SOUND, a grey filly (May 15) by Midnight Hawk out of Naturally Mystical, is trained by Tensang Chung with Matthew Bennett aboard. It's difficult to envision her finding success in this race.
