KINGSTON, Jamaica – Having conquered the five straight with Anthony Thomas in the saddle on last, Storm Princess trained by Nicholas Smith made it two in a row, this time on the round course at six furlongs.
The race was the Caymanas Saturday second for $450,000 - $400,000 claimers.
Twilight Lady (Omar Simpson) from the one draw shot off in front closely followed by Storm Princess. It was Twilight Lady who took the field into the stretch for the last two furlongs.
The two, (Twilight Lady and Storm Princess) battled until the final furlong when Storm Princess took over going on to win by 3 ¾ lengths. Third was the late starting Buckaluck (Chris Mamdeen).
Storm Princess was winning for the eight time from 52 starts, while for trainer Smith it was his third victory for the year.
