KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the fifth time at the Overnight Allowance level, Duke gave one of his better performances to beat a crack field over six furlongs with Robert Halledeen in the saddle.
Trained by Gary Subratie who was completing a double on the day, Duke rallied from behind front runners Universal Boss and England’s Rose with a furlong to go, by getting into full gear under a power ride from Halledeen to snatch the lead but still had to be pushed out as 99-1 long shot Princess Emanuelle came with a strong drive but the stately Duke was not going to be caught today.
Princess Emanuelle was second with Universal Boss third.
The winning time was 1:11.1.
