KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2023 St. Elizabeth Distaff, an overnight allowance race spanning a mile, is a highlight of the Jamaica Day card set for Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Caymanas Park.
The Quick Galloper has compiled some noteworthy facts and figures on the eight contenders in the race.
1 – Four of the participating horses, all US-bred, are foreign-bred. They include American Tap (trained by Howard Jaghai), Luksol (trained by Jason DaCosta), Sistren Treasure (trained by Gary Subratie), and Desert of Malibu (trained by Gary Subratie). Notably, Rig Charmer is a bred-in-utero five-year-old mare, is trained by Patrick Lynch.
2 – Savoy Stomp from HAM Stables is the most represented sire, with three offspring participating: Babylike (Savoy Stomp out of Ladylike), Outbidder (Savoy Stomp out of Rumble), and Rani Bangala (Savoy Stomp out of Palace Gold).
3 – Ring Charmer has the most starts under her belt, having competed 51 times and securing four victories.
4 – Three horses share the highest number of wins at five: American Tap, Outbidder, and Rani Bangala.
5 – With three victories to her name, Desert of Malibu has the fewest wins among the contenders.
