Bailey hustled Pakman to take the early lead and the eight-year-old bay gelding showed the way ahead of Storm Valley (Andre’ Martin), Buckaluck (Anthony Thomas), and Sir Puddington (Shane Richardson).
Navigating the half-mile (800m) turn, Pakman upped the tempo and drew away from rivals coming into the lane. Pakman was 3 ¾ lengths in front of Buckaluck and Sir Puddington. The final time was 1:10.0.
