KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a maiden condition contest (six furlongs), the Caymanas Saturday (May 14) seventh, that featured six first-timers in the line-up of 11, it was the least thought about newbie Flight Time (Andre Martin), who went by the winning post in front.
Then following a stewards’ inquiry and a jockey’s objection lodged by Andre Powell atop original third placed D Head Cornerstone, the colours of Flight Time were lowered to fourth.
Sir Tajay, the seasoned veteran in this bunch, ran on strongly in the final furlong to finish second 3 ½ lengths behind the disqualified Flight Time.
The final placings were as follows, first - Sir Tajay; second - D Head Cornerstone; third – Salud, and fourth – Flight Time.
Sir Tajay had Romario Spencer in the saddle for trainer Steven Todd, and won at odds of 9-1.
