Apprentice Matthew Bennett played the waiting game on Sir Puddington as General Mubaraak (Romario Spencer) set the early fractions. Both were clear of the rest of the field.

General Mubaraak entered the straight with the advantage but was quickly pounced upon by Sir Puddington. The two were locked in battle during the last furlong with Sir Puddington able to push on to score by two lengths.
