KINGSTON, Jamaica - The ninth race on Saturday, November 30, 2024, is set to be the highlight of the day, featuring the six-furlong Jockey’s Agent Trophy.
This premier event is open to three-year-olds with no more than two wins, as well as imported three-year-olds and older fillies and mares (maidens), attracting a competitive field of 11 runners.
- SMALL BOSS: Appears to be gaining confidence in the non-two category, evidenced by a fourth-place finish on October 12 at six furlongs. With the visor removed and strong recent training sessions, Small Boss is poised to secure his second victory soon but not on Saturday.
- OIL MACHINE: Likely to have difficulty keeping pace with the front runners.
- FIRST OFFENSE: Shows a preference for longer distances and is expected to finish strong, benefiting from a fast early pace.
- HIMAYA: A reliable competitor who tends to perform well. Racing without Lasix this time, Himaya is becoming accustomed to this level and could finish in the money.
- FIRST GRANDSON: Can still make an impact despite a lacklustre eighth-place finish on November 23. His inconsistent recent performance might be good enough to earn a place, especially with Dane Nelson in the saddle.
- TIFFANY BLU: Recently claimed victory but faces significant challenges to replicate that success.
- RACK DEM: Should be overlooked in this race.
- BUSHFIRE: Anticipated to show improvement after two lackluster outings at this level.
- SMART TRICK: Set a fast pace in his last outing at seven furlongs before being caught late. The shorter distance on Saturday suits Smart Trick’s running style perfectly.
- TITAN TEMPO (USA): Making a return after a 105-day layoff, Titan Tempo is expected to perform well, having previously finished third in a one-mile race on August 17.
- CATALINA PRINCESS (USA): Despite two unremarkable local performances, she is anticipated to deliver her best effort yet.
