KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Shane Ellis continued to highlight his skill in the saddle with another intelligent ride this time on the Anthony Nunes trained He Can Dance to win the Caymanas Monday (July 5) first.
That event was a Restricted Stakes (five-year-olds and upwards: non-winners of two) going 7 furlongs.
Awesome Glitter (Shane Richardson) was the earliest out of the gates but was swooped on by It’sabeautifulday (Oneil Mullings), with He Can Dance running smoothly in fourth place.
It’sabeautifulday then went on by several lengths to enter the straight looking all over as the winner with a clear lead.
But Ellis timed his final push with perfection and got He Can Dance rolling in the final furlong going on to win by 1 ¼ lengths.
Sweet Surprise (Roger Hewitt) came on for second with Nez Perce third.
