KINGSTON, Jamaica - The third race on Saturday, September 14, 2024, is the second two-year-old race this season.

Eight horses have been nominated to compete going four furlongs.

Eight are entered to compete with The Quick Galloper's assessment published below.

1 - DANKA is a chestnut filly (January 24) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Baby P, trained by Richard Azan with Raddesh Roman aboard. This is the first offspring of Aveenu Malcainu to race in Jamaica. Note that Baby P has already produced Eazy Peazy. Has been well prepared for her debut including a four-furlong gallop on September 9 in a fluent 49.0 seconds. Morning observers indicate that Danka is a speedy sort, who is ready for battle.

2 - PLATINUM PRINCESS is a bay filly (January 17) by Bern Identity out of Native Gold, trained by Anthony Nunes with Omar Walker riding. Note that Platinum Princess races with the blinkers off.  Platinum Princess is the only one of the eight starters with race day experience. She finished second, 4 ¾ lengths behind winner Miss Moneypenny on debut over three furlongs. That one-off effort is enough to give Platinum Princess a realistic chance of success, plus she has been moving smoothly at exercise.

3 - BEAUTIFUL SUNSET is a chestnut filly (April 26) by Northern Giant out of Excellence, trained by Jason DaCosta with Victor Sanchez in the saddle. Note that Excellence has already produced Uncle Wal and Select Me. Word out is that this filly is progressing well in the mornings with several four-furlong spins under her girth. While showing some speed, the analysis is that Beautiful Sunset will be better suited to going longer.

4 - FOXY is a bay filly (February 11) by Casual Trick out of Keep The Faith, trained by Ian Parsard with Paul Francis riding. Keep The Faith has already produced Wifey Sez So, Vanquisher, Bootylicious, and Oil Machine. Hailing from speed stock, Foxy has been going through her preparation smoothly. Will play a part in the outcome.

5 - QUEEN LATEHA is a bay filly (April 5) by Casual Trick out of Gold Price, trained by Lorenzo Robinson with Aaron Chatrie holding the reins. Note that Queen Latepha has already produced Sir Kel and Powerman. Clockers are reporting that Queen Lateha is of some worth but will have to wait to get off the mark.

6 - GLOBAL PURSUIT is a chestnut colt (March 18) by Bold Conquest out of American Invader, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen as the designated jockey. Global Pursuit is the only colt in this eight-horse field. This Bold Conquest progeny has recorded three, four-furlong gallops, including on September 7, when he clocked 47 seconds. Said to possess a lot of speed and is expected to deliver a good account first time out.

7 - SIMPLY ENCHANTING is a chestnut filly (March 24) by Soul Warrior out of My Elle Belle, trained by Oral Hayden with Tevin Foster riding. Another who has worked well in preparation for her first start. Clocked 47.2 seconds on September 7.

8 - BURNING HEDGE is a chestnut filly (April 16) by Hedge Fund out of Burning Clearance, trained by Carl Anderson with Youville Pinnock aboard. Note that Burning Clearance has already produced Sunshine Cat, Stallwalkin’girl, T Brady and Burning Valor. Said to be well advanced for her debut run with a 47.4-second spin on August 31. Expect a good effort from Burning Bridge.
