KINGSTON, Jamaica – Perfect Brew produced the goods first time of asking to win the Caymanas Saturday second – a Maiden Special Weight event for two-year-olds travelling five furlongs round.

The bay colt by Bern Identity – Midnight Brew trained by Richard Azan with champion apprentice Oshane Nugent in the saddle stayed off the early splits of 23.2 x 46.3 set by Awesome Rich (Jerome Innis) followed by Rupunzel (Tevin Foster).

Going three wide entering the lane, Nugent brought Perfect Brew with his challenge and in no time the bay colt went by the leaders going on to win by 3 ¾ lengths. Rupunzel finished second – the third time from three races – with Awesome Rich third.

The winning time was a respectable 1:00.4.
