KINGSTON, Jamaica – After several under performing efforts Sentient (Robert Halledeen) returned to a semblance of his former self with a resounding win in the Caymanas Saturday seventh.

The Caymanas Saturday seventh was an Overnight Allowance call for three-year-old and upwards at 7 ½ furlongs.

The undefeated Make Up Artist (Anthony Thomas) assumed the early lead but was quickly challenged by Legality (Dane Nelson) with Roy Rogers (Marshall Porter) racing in the third slot. At this point in the contest Sentient was near the back of the field but could be seen picking off horses.

Legality and Make Up Artist continued to engage in a fight for supremacy on the headlines with the former gaining the ascendency while navigating the final bend.

When they entered the lane for the final two furlongs, it was Roy Rogers getting the better of Legality but by now Sentient was brought to the inside and the five-year-old chestnut horse found his rhythm pulling away to win by 4 ½ lengths.

Roy Rogers was second and Legality third.

Sentient was the second winner on this Saturday card for Halledeen.
