KINGSTON, Jamaica – Salvation, the longest shot of the day offering blessings of 8-1 emerged from the sky to win the Caymanas Monday ninth  – a five straight contest at the Overnight Allowance level. This race was run in honour of former champion jockey and five straight specialist Charles Hussey.

With Oneil Mullings in the saddle for trainer Philip Feanny, Salvation raced behind leader Trevor’s Choice, who had the ascendency from the get-go.

On the main track proper it was still Trevor’s Choice with the advantage but in the last furlong Mullings produced Salvation who quickly responded to nab Trevor’s Choice by ¾ length.

Drummer Boy (Abigail Able) was third.
