The three-year-old Classic series is approaching, and Runaway Star has emerged as a strong contender following a decisive victory in a Maiden Condition Race on March 29, 2025.

Owned by Edward Steadman, trained by Jason DaCosta, and ridden by Raddesh Roman, the chestnut colt won the 7-furlong race by an impressive 8½ lengths, recording a time of 1:28.2 (24.2 x 48.1 x 1:15.0).

Runaway Star began the race well and fought for the early lead against Prolific Prince (Shane Ellis).

The duo maintained a close competition through the backstretch, pulling away from the rest of the field. As they approached the final turn, the two horses battled neck and neck.

However, when Roman encouraged Runaway Star to accelerate, the colt surged ahead, easily distancing himself from Prolific Prince, who finished third behind Beneison (Tajay Suckoo), who claimed second.

With this performance, Runaway Star has established himself as a significant threat in the upcoming Classic series.
