KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a sustained battle in the straight involving Royal Aviator and She’s Symbolic with both horses racing on the inside, it was Royal Aviator who got the neck in front when the winning post arrived.

This was the first race of 10 as the Heroes Day card got underway a short while ago at Caymanas Park.

Trained by Wayne DaCosta and ridden by Phillip Parchment, Royal Aviator was slowly out when the gates opened to signal the start of the Heroes Day Stakes Trophy which was a Restricted Stakes 111 for four-year-olds non-winners of four run over a mile.

Kalahari (Reyan Lewis) shot to the lead followed by Bad Boy Trump (Anthony Thomas) with Royal Aviator and She’s Symbolic (Aaron Chatrie) bringing up the rear.

Kalahari entered the straight as the leader but by then both She’s Symbolic and Royal Aviator were close by waiting to pounce and pounce they did.

Parchment riding as if his life depended on winning pushed Royal Aviator to score by a neck.

She’s Symbolic was second with Dezzy The Genius third.

The winning time was 1:39.4.
