KINGSTON, Jamaica – The ever resilient and tough Roy Rogers won Division One of the Errol ‘Big Sub’ Subratie Memorial Trophy, which was the Caymanas Tuesday seventh.

Travelling a mile, in Overnight Allowance company, Roy Rogers trained by Dennis Lee with apprentice Nicholas Hibbert in the saddle, was racing for the 53rd time, and achieved his seventh overall victory.

From the gates opened, Hibbert began to push Roy Rogers, and after a furlong was completed the five-year-old grey gelding went ahead followed by Lalala Bamba (Kiaman McGregor).

Rounding the half-mile turn, Roy Rogers increased his tempo and started to slip away in earnest from the pack.

In the home straight it was all Roy Rogers with the only question being which horse would be second?

Marquesas (Robert Halledeen) occupied the second slot - 11 ¾ lengths behind the winner. Chinamax (Linton Steadman) finished third.
