KINGSTON, Jamaica – From the gates opened for the first race of 11 on the Ash Wednesday programme at Caymanas Park, the 4-5 odds on favourite Rojorn di Pilot flew into the lead and was never headed.
Rojorn di Pilot, ridden by Omar Walker and trained by Wayne DaCosta won a $1 million - $850,000 Optional Claiming event run over five furlongs round.
This was Rojorn di Pilot’s fourth win, all four with Walker on board and interestingly three of those wins have been done in the first race.
Bimini (Trevor Simpson – 7/1) was three lengths behind in second with third going to K D Flyer (Dane Nelson – 9/5).
The winning time was 1:00.1.
