KINGSTON, Jamaica – After finishing first and second yesterday (Oct 30) in the Cash Pot Trophy, trainer Richard Azan continued his weekend dominance of the juvenile races following the win by Power Ranking in the Caymanas Sunday third, which was a maiden special weight contest going 4 ½ furlongs.
Jockey Oshane Nugent settled Power Ranking, a two-year-old bay colt by Casual Trick – Escandalosa, in mid-pack with Rupunzel (Tevin Foster) and A Gift From Ben (Anthony Thomas), the main rivals.
Crossing over to the main track, Power Ranking showed his early class by pulling away to win without a sweat by 2 ¼ lengths. Rupunzel finished second, which was the fourth time she has done so from six starts, while first timer A Gift From Ben was third.
