Trained by Robert Pearson, Rani Bangala achieved her fourth consecutive win with an exceptional performance on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Competing for the first time at the Overnight Allowance level, the four-year-old bay filly Rani Bangala led from start to finish. She dominated the race for three-year-olds and older, winning by 16 lengths over a mile (1,600m) and achieving a time of 1:38.3 (24.2 x 47.3 x 1:12.1).

Pearson admitted he wasn't surprised by Rani Bangala's success at odds of 12, but her manner of victory impressed him.

"Rani Bangala has consistently improved throughout her previous races and on the exercise track, so I anticipated a strong effort from her. Despite competing against Mojito, a formidable horse, she excelled today and pleasantly surprised me. We never expected her to make one bell," Pearson shared with The Supreme Racing Guide.

"This season has been revelatory for Rani Bangala; I believe she's one of the most improved horses currently racing. At first, I was concerned about her starting position as she's never led a race like this before. But when she passed the three-furlong marker, I knew it was over.

I was highly impressed with the manner of victory and plan to enter her in more significant races towards the end of the year," Pearson added.

As they passed the seven-furlong (1,400m) intersection pole, Rani Bangala remained relaxed in the lead position ahead of Big Jule (Robert Halledeen), Excessive Force (Shane Richardson), and Babylike (Oneil Mullings).

Approaching the final half-mile, jockey Raddesh Roman urged Rani Bangala to accelerate, and she complied. Shortly afterward, Mojito emerged from the pursuing pack to chase the leader.

Rani Bangala turned for home, increased her speed, and engaged the afterburners, leaving her competition trailing in the final stretch.

Sunset Silhouette (Reyan Lewis) secured second place, followed by Mojito in third.
