KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jockey Rajiv Maragh continued his upward trek since his return from injury, with a double today (February 23, 2025) on the 10-race card at Gulfstream Park in Florida.
Maragh’s first winner, Drop The Hammer came in the second race, a maiden special weight event. Drop The Hammer is trained by Mark Casse.
The post-race report reads: “DROP THE HAMMER saved ground around the first turn, led the way up the backstretch, continued to save ground around the far bend and kicked clear in the lane.”
Maragh closed his double in the fifth when he guided Ensign Parker, owned and trained by his father Collin, to victory in a claiming event.
The post-race report reads as follows: “ENSIGN PARKER bumped with the horse to his inside at the start, settled off the pace on the outside for the run up the backstretch, began a bid from the three path coming around the far turn and gained ground late to get up for the win.
