KINGSTON, Jamaica - Trained by Richard Azan and ridden by Dane Dawkins, Rainsville triumphed in a race for native-bred four-year-olds and upwards (non-winners of four) as well as imported four-year-olds and upwards (non-winners of three) over a distance of 9 furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Caymanas Park.
Rainsville started in fourth place, trailing She's My Friend (Jerome Innis), March and Shoot (Matthew Bennett), and Whisky (Devon A Thomas) entering the clubhouse turn and progressing along the backstretch.
Rainsville maintained a steady pace while She's My Friend led the field, followed by Whisky and, March, Shoot. As they approached the half-mile turn.
Dawkins urged Rainsville to pursue the leaders, moving into second position coming off the final turn.
In the last stretch, a fierce contest for first place unfolded between Rainsville and She's My Friend, with Rainsville emerging victorious by three parts of a length at the finish line.
Sonny T and Chippy (Tevin Foster) secured third place with a final time of 26.4 x 51.0 x 1:16.1 x 1:43.4.
